// 10th Anniversary Mega-Release
Happy Anniversary! Today celebrates the tenth anniversary for the label and we have a mega-blowout batch of 14 new releases to enjoy. Over the past almost two years now we haven’t jammed much as a group or developed much solo work, but there has been a few important throw-downs to keep the spirit moving, and this momentous milestone seemed like a great time to share the best of them and add a little more to the mountain.
First up is the ‘Revival 2016‘ album by Pete & Frank 3000 which kicked everything back off with our first new jam during hiatus in January 2016 (it’s also an alternate-universe matched pair to the ‘MayDay 2013‘ album). Book-ending that is our most recent jam from April Fool’s Day 2017, which produced the goth-tinged ‘Fools of the World‘ album, with it’s one-off alt band name and loose cybertron 90’s concept.
Secondly, we spent some time digging up the last of the Junebugg recordings and compiled a final album from all the short 4-trak explorations that happened later on in 2004, snippets of tape sides, 2 or 3 tracks at a time, many labelled with more and more interesting titles. The actual ‘Chasing After Landlocked Objects‘ tape was missing and remains an enigma, but the title was too good to pass up. We end the new batch of albums appropriately enough with the final evix entry ‘KORG‘ of live takes exploring the Micro-Korg and Korg Kaosillator in one last trip through the universe.
Next up is the ‘Trachx 1-4‘ EPs by Xrei, formed a couple tracks at a time over the course of 2016 as new equipment and techniques were explored – mainly building up live multi-track play-throughs while roaming the cosmos. They were complied as they happened into short bite-sized EPs with reflecting motifs.
Along with all the 4-trak tapes of Junebugg, we also dug up 3 more extended tape sides from the original era, and 3 DJ Loki mixes from just before it. The double-sided ‘Kid Spock‘ has long been an early hip-hop favorite of ours, while ‘Castlewood Crooks‘ captures the 90’s energy of blistering rave/techno workouts. Tons of fun and they lead to the transformation into deeper creation as Junebugg. Catch them all in the Tapes section.
This now brings us up to catalog number apr-266 and our number of total releases up to 155.
Enjoy our journey. Thanks for taking it with us.
